BEdita – pronounced [bi'εdita] – is both a development framework for web applications and a full featured Content Management System, released under the open-source license Affero General Public License version 3 (AGPL3).
BEdita is based upon CakePHP and, amongst other library/tools, JQuery and Smarty template Engine.
On 17 November 2009 the BEdita 3.0 stable has been officially released.
The project was started and is currently developed by ChannelWeb srl and Chia Lab srl, two Italian companies based in Bologna.
